EPA picks cloud services provider

Contract award will aid agency's quest to migrate IT to the cloud.

The Environmental Protection Agency has chosen a cloud services provider as part of its effort to shift 80 percent of its IT to the cloud in the next three years.

CGI Federal will provide the services under a $15 million contract, the company announced. EPA's National Computing Center is working toward a hybrid cloud environment for the agency. Its goal is to move 80 percent of the computing enivronment to the cloud by 2015. CGI Federal's role will be to provide hosting, virtualization and other infrastructure services.
