The General Services Administration plans to phase out these specialty governmentwide acquisition contracts: Access Certificates for Electronic Services: Facilitates secure electronic access to government information and services. No new orders to be issued with performance periods beyond Oct. 1, 2005, and do not recompete. Further study may determine if continuation or changes are warranted based on overriding government interoperability issues. Disaster Recovery: Systems for storing and restoring data. Grant six-month extension until March 28, 2004, and do not recompete. Outsourcing the Desktop Initiative: Seat management contract for NASA. Do not renew Memorandum of Understanding with NASA. Reverse Auctions: Allow to expire July 24, 2004. Safeguard: Security-related blanket purchase agreement. Expired Sept. 30. Seat Management Service Contract: No new orders with performance periods beyond June 30, 2008, or sooner. No recompete. Smart Card: No new orders with performance periods beyond May 2006. Further study may be necessary to determine if continuation or changes are warranted based on overriding government interoperability issues. Virtual Data Centers: No new orders with performance periods beyond Feb., 17 2007. No recompete.
