The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said today its hearing with Lurita Doan, administrator of the General Services Administration, will be postponed. Committee staff members would give no specific reason or new hearing date.
Doan was expected to answer allegations of wrongdoing and misconduct at the March 20 hearing.
Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), committee chairman, called Doan to testify about her business relationship with longtime friend Edie Fraser, owner of the Public Affairs Group. Waxman also wants answers about allegations that Doan used GSA to benefit Republican candidates and about problems with a Sun Microsystems technology contract, according to Waxmans March 6 letter to Doan.
Later that day, Doan said she welcomed Waxmans call and wanted an opportunity to tell her side.
