The Homeland Security Department awarded two contracts to Performance Management Consulting, a subsidiary of management and information technology consulting firm Aviel Systems.

The two contracts are for work with DHS’ Office of Procurement Operations and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) divisions. The contracts are worth a combined $4.1 million for a one-year term with the possibility of four more one-year options.

Aviel will help the office’s customers develop performance-based work statements. It will also help the office analyze and refine its business processes.

“The intent is to ensure that we establish and promote business processes that support our contract specialists and our customers in the award, administration and closeout of contracts,” said Larry Orluskie, DHS spokesman.

Aviel works with several programs at DHS, supporting the Office of Security, the Office of the Chief Information Officer, the Geospatial Program, Citizen and Immigration Services and Customs and Border Protection.

ICE had not responded to queries from Federal Computer Week by deadline.
