Sun Microsystems Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, announced that it has renewed its multiple-award schedule indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with the General Services Administration to continue to supply its products and services to the government through August 2009. A company announcement states that Sun's complete line of sustainable computing and military-grade security products and services, including the open-source Solaris operating system, Sun Fire servers and Sun Ray 2 Thin Clients, will be available to federal agencies and other entities entitled to purchase products and services from the GSA Schedule. "Through our long and successful relationship with the GSA, we have seen, firsthand, how the GSA streamlines the federal procurement process for both government purchasers and vendors," said Bill Vass, president and chief operating officer of Sun Microsystems Federal, in the announcement. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with GSA and maintaining our focus on developing products and services that enable the federal government to better serve and protect its citizens."
