ProSight, an investment management consultant and business software provider, has hired Sam Maccherola as vice president of its federal sector. He will be responsible for the strategy, operations, sales and marketing of ProSight’s federal business unit. Maccherola has more than 20 years of government management and program development experience within the information technology and systems integration industry, including stints as president of Tenix America and vice president of public-sector sales at Tripwire. Maccherola also has held senior positions at Tumbleweed, Entrust Technologies, Platinum Technologies and Legent. “Government agencies at all levels are looking to better plan, prioritize and manage their IT and non-IT related assets,” said John Cimral, ProSight’s chief executive officer. “We required a proven leader that could help us maintain and grow our public-sector business. A well-known, well-respected individual in this community, Sam Maccherola was the clear choice.” Maccherola is a member of several professional associations, including AFCEA International’s Technical Committee. He has also led the software special interest group at the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council and has been active in the IT Association of America.
