Christine Liu, former chief knowledge officer and acting deputy chief information officer at the State Department, became the new CIO at the Small Business Administration this week.
Liu, a 27-year federal employee, replaces Charles McClam, SBAs deputy CIO, who served as acting CIO from late August 2005 to April 24. At State, she was active in developing a joint strategic plan for the department and the U.S. Agency for International Development. She also was involved in managing the departments enterprise architecture and information technology investment portfolio.
In 1994, Liu completed the Advanced Management Program in Information Resources Management at National Defense University. She earned a masters degree in computer systems from the University of Maryland in 1998.
