CACI International has agreed to acquire AlphaInsight, a privately owned information technology services firm in Falls Church, Va. The smaller AlphaInsight provides software and systems engineering, network engineering, network management services, information assurance and security. The deal is expected to close during CACI’s fourth fiscal quarter, which ends in June. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. AlphaInsight employs 360 people, with 94 percent of its billable employees holding clearances, according to CACI. CACI cited AlphaInsight’s presence in the State Department as one factor that makes it an attractive acquisition target. In January, AlphaInsight announced a $3.2 million contract with State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, providing software engineering and support services for the bureau’s Building Management Integrated System. The pending AlphaInsight deal marks CACI’s second acquisition move this month. On March 1, the company completed the purchase of Information Systems Support, which offers IT, communications and logistics services. AlphaInsight’s contract vehicles include the General Services Administration’s Schedule 70 and Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services schedule. Other contracts include the National Institutes of Health’s Chief Information Officer Solutions and Partners 2 and the Commerce Department’s COMMITS NexGen.
