One of the leaders at the provisional Air Force Cyberspace Command will leave his post after being there for less than four weeks to fill an acquisitions position for the service.
The move comes while Air Force leaders evaluate whether to establish the Cyberspace Command. The service's secretary and chief of staff are considering delaying setting up the command.
Maj. Gen. Randal Fullhart, now vice commander for the provisional cyber command, has prior acquisitions experience. Fullhart will report in October to his new job as director of Global Reach Programs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at the Pentagon.
The general arrived at the command at Barksdale Air Force Base in early August from Maryland where he served as deputy chief, Central Security Service for the National Security Agency at Fort Meade. The decision to move Fullhart was announced Aug. 28.
Fullhart said his departure should not be taken as an indication that any decisions have been made regarding the future of the cyber command.
