The House passed a bill July 29 that would clear the way for the Government Accountability Office to go to court, if necessary, to gain access to agency records, the Federal Times reports.

The bill, HR 6388, "effectively would nullify a 2002 decision by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Walker v. Cheney, which found GAO didn’t have standing to sue the vice president for records on the administration’s energy policy," according to the Federal Times article.
