The Council for Excellence in Government and Avue Technologies have announced plans to partner on programs designed to strengthen public-sector leadership and management.
“The council is looking forward to working with Avue on our shared vision of improving government by encouraging innovation and a results-oriented focus,” said Patricia McGinnis, president and chief executive officer at the council. “Giving the public sector the tools they need to succeed is a priority for both our organizations.”
Linda Rix, co-CEO at Avue, noted a synergy between the missions of Avue and the council. They “are both working to create a better, more efficient and more responsive government for the future.”
Avue is a provider of human-resources management tools and shared-service systems. It will use its workforce and technology expertise to help the council enhance its online presence, said Carl Fillichio, vice president for innovation and public engagement at the council.
“Avue is a very respected technology firm, and they have very broad experience in the federal sector,” Fillichio said. “They’re particularly good at human capital issues, which is something that we’re very interested in. We’re going to look at doing things live and online to improve government performance, particularly around human capital issues.”
Among joint projects, online seminars and webcasts intended to bring those issues to the forefront are “totally conceivable,” he said.
