The Office of Personnel Management is looking for vendors to provide a second piece to the Human Resources Line of Business effort.

In a request for information issued on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site July 30, OPM said it wants information on companies that could provide a standard approach to entrance on duty functions, which include human resources services for new employees or current feds who transfer from one agency to another.

Responses are due Aug. 10.

OPM wants vendors to describe how their software would perform six functions:
  • Extend a job offer.
  • Respond to a job offer.
  • Initiate pre-employment processes.
  • Certify compliance with pre-employment requirements.
  • Hire the candidate.
  • Close the case file.

The RFI comes as OPM and the General Services Administration are reviewing company bids to provide Human Resources Line of Business services through the Federal Supply Schedule program.

OPM officials have said they hope to make a decision by the end of this month.
