White House officials nominated Paul Brubaker to be the administrator of the Transportation Departments Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA).
Brubaker, a former Defense Department deputy chief information officer in the 1990s, will lead Transportations research efforts and help advance the deployment of transportation technologies.
RITA includes the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center and the Office of Research, Development and Technology, and provides strategic direction and oversight of DOTs Intelligent Transportation Systems Program.
Brubaker has been chairman and chief executive officer of Procentrix since August. He also worked for SI International and Aquilent.
He played a central role in drafting the Clinger-Cohen Act while working for Sen. Bill Cohen (R-Maine) as staff director for the Government Affairs Committees Oversight of Government Management Subcommittee.
