The California Department of Industrial Relations has awarded Unisys Corp. a four-year, $3.4 million contract to provide an automated licensing and case management system, the company said today.
Under the contract, Unisys of Blue Bell, Pa., will provide application software and professional services to the department’s Division of Labor Standards and Enforcement to streamline the business processes of its field enforcement, wage claim adjudication, licensing and registration, and legal units.
Unisys’ team includes Hanson Information Technologies Inc. of Sacramento, Calif., a provider of business software products and services.
The new case management system will provide the core operations environment and allow the division to administer programs related to labor law enforcement. The system also will help inspectors and investigators manage their daily activities, and assist the division in reducing backlogs in license application processing, wage claims and hearings.
The Division of Labor Standards and Enforcement enforces California laws that involve employer-employee relationships and regulations, and licenses business in certain industries.
