The General Services Administration said it expects its eOffer electronic-bidding portal to be reopened for business later this morning after the agency corrects a security glitch.

EOffer lets vendors prepare and submit their electronic GSA schedule offers and contract modifications.

GSA shut the site down Jan. 11 after a vendor notified the agency of the problem. A GSA spokeswoman said the agency’s inspector general is currently investigating the flaw, which allowed users of the system to change others’ bids once they were logged onto the site.

The agency said it immediately launched an investigation and also initiated a search of other electronic services GSA provides.

The spokeswoman would not comment on when the IG investigation will be completed.
