The Labor Department has launched a revamped version of a Web portal that gives regulated industries guidance on federal employment laws and regulations.

Labor staff did most of the work on the new Compliance Assistance portal , a spokeswoman said, and added that the revised site is geared to be a central gateway for all federal compliance needs.

“Today’s employers and workers are demanding access to accurate, easy-to-understand employment law information 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Veronica Stidvent, assistant secretary for policy. “This new and improved Compliance Assistance portal enables users to quickly and easily navigate DOL’s wide range of regulatory and compliance information any time, day or night.”

The portal, first launched in June 2002, now contains an e-tool function, fact sheets, regulatory text, frequently asked questions and an electronic subscription feature that alerts subscribers to breaking compliance rules.
