As Congress tries to limit agency spending on e-government, the Office of Management and Budget wants to rebrand its efforts with a new logo.
Karen Evans, OMB’s administrator for e-government and IT, sent a memo to CIOs earlier this month announcing the new logo and asking them to use it on all Web sites, marketing materials and presentations.
“This symbol is one of many steps in upgrading the marketing and outreach of the President’s Management Agenda vision to expand e-government,” Evans said in the memo.
Changing the logo should not result in any unplanned costs for agencies, Evans added.
The new logo replaces a 2-year-old version that featured a red e and blue gov, a stylized person with raised arm and the phrase “My government, My terms” underneath.
