So what was your New Year’s resolution? Start to exercise or get more exercise? You can rev up your fitness plan with the 2007 HealthierFeds Physical Activity Challenge underway from Jan. 22 to March 18. Sign up here.

You log your activity and choose one of two ways: Active Lifestyle for those willing to exercise –- or at least try to -- 30 minutes a day, five days a week, or Presidential Champion, for those looking for more vigorous activity.

Some larger agencies and even some regional offices have fitness facilities in the building for feds to use for a modest fee. The key to success is to figure out the best time of day to get an exercise routine going. A recommendation I hear more and more is to walk 10,000 steps (that's about 2 miles) briskly each day, even if it’s a little here and a little there. Exercise is a great de-stressor. It can also help you get a life!
