FCW Insider: Where Robert Shea is going…and Education's CIO update

Following up from yesterday's posts about the departure of Robert Shea and Education's Bill Vajda.

First, more about Shea. The FCW Insider has learned that Shea is going to join Grant Thornton's Global Public Sector -- a nice coup for Grant Thornton. Just about everybody seems to think that it is a good fit.

Second, more from the Education Department. I keep hearing that there is more there, but I haven't heard about the more yet. (Let me know what you are hearing -- tips are kept anonymous, of course.) That being said, we are also hearing that Danny Harris, Education's current deputy chief financial officer, is going to be adding the acting CIO title as well.

Regarding Vajda, I had reported erroneously that he was "going to OMB." In fact, he is going to OMB on detail for no longer than a year. I've corrected it there, but just to make sure we're all on the same page. (I've never fully understood the "on detail" stuff anyway. It seems that term gets thrown around a lot.)

I understand now, you're a gossip columnist. Should have realized that sooner, would have saved us both a lot of time.
