Via BoingBoing comes this post about “Celestial Mechanics,� which is artwork that combines science and statistical display in its depiction of aerial technologies – planes, helicopters, weather balloons, satellites, etc. There are some lovely stills on the Celestial Mechanics home page, but these video depictions of flight patterns (based on FAA data) are fascinating. Not your typical night-time map of the US with east and west coasts lit up. Much more.
