The Acronyma acronym search engine has indexed more than 466,000 acronyms and abbreviations. Most are in English, but Acronyma also searches in Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Italian and Portuguese. I tried it out, and it’s pretty complete. It has translations for JSTARS, GIG-BE, B2B and AFCEA. OBE yields:
Out of Body Experience Of the British Empire Order of the British Empire Outcome-Based Education Officer of the British Empire Overtaken By Events Overcome By Events Outcome Based Evaluation Out of Band Experience Open Business Exchange

There are even some text-messaging acronyms: LOL, BTW and BRB. And when I checked POS, looking for “parent over shoulder or “point of sale, Acronyma returned not only those, but also the more popular, off-color acronym for a junk car.
