This story was updated to clarify that tests of Northrop Grumman's network were not conducted in lower Manhattan, as we had previously reported. High-speed tests could not be conducted in lower Manhattan because of traffic control issues. But IPWireless has tested high-speed vehicular mobility in the United States and on a race track and a high-speed train in Europe, and it demonstrated it can provide 2 megabits/sec data speeds to vehicles moving at 120 mph.
