Homeland Security Department Deputy Secretary Michael Jackson has appointed Tom Lockwood senior adviser for credentialing interoperability in DHSâ Screening Coordination Office.
In the position, Lockwood will build on his success in developing common interoperable credentials for public- and private-sector first responders by working on key secretarial screening initiatives including fostering interoperability of credentialing systems for federal, state and local governments, Jackson said in a statement.
Lockwood has been director of the Office of National Capital Region Coordination since May 2004.
Prior to joining DHS, Lockwood was the homeland security adviser and deputy director of Marylandâs Office for Homeland Security, where he served on several executive boards including:
* The U.S. Attorney Maryland Districtâs Anti-Terrorism Task Force.
* DHSâ National Capital Region Senior Policy Group.
* The Maryland Maritime Security Group.
* The Maryland Terrorism Forum.
* The Washington Council of Governmentâs National Capital Region Emergency Preparedness Council.
* The National Emergency Management Associationâs Homeland Security Committee.
