Homeland Security Department Secretary Michael Chertoff has appointed Paul Rosenzweig as deputy assistant secretary for policy.
In this capacity, Rosenzweig will serve as second in command of the Policy Office and play help oversee policy development and integration, and strategic planning departmentwide.
For nearly two years, Rosenzweig has been an adviser on Chertoff's senior leadership team as acting assistant secretary for international affairs and as counselor to the assistant secretary for policy. He has brought to the department his experience as a trial attorney in the Environmental Crimes Section of the Justice Department, as investigative counsel to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and as senior litigation counsel in the Office of the Independent Counsel.
Prior to joining the department, Rosenzweig was senior legal research fellow in the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation.
