Richard Burk, former chief architect and manager of the federal enterprise architecture program at the Office of Management and Budget, has joined ICF International. He will assist ICF’s efforts to expand the application of enterprise architecture throughout the government, the company announced today.

At OMB, Burk led efforts to develop a standard, governmentwide business and technology framework to align federal information technology investments to improve government services. The framework has been adopted by most federal agencies, several state governments and some foreign governments.

Before joining OMB, Burk concluded his 30-year career at the Housing and Urban Development Department as the chief enterprise architect responsible for development and delivery of the agency’s enterprise architecture and data management practices and strategic planning process.

Last year, Burk was president of the Association for Federal Information Resources Management, a government/industry organization dedicated to improving federal information management through education and internships.

Public and government affairs advocate Tim Jemal launches bicoastal public affairs firm with offices in California and Washington, D.C. With the philosophy that “every campaign is a cause,” public and government affairs expert Tim Jemal launches Jemal Public Affairs (JPA) to deliver legislative advocacy, strategic communications and public awareness campaigns to businesses and nonprofits in California, Washington, D.C. and internationally. “For two decades, I have helped organizations execute successful government affairs, community relations and public awareness strategies that have resulted in business growth and shaping public policy decisions at the local, state and federal levels,” Jemal said. “Don’t believe those who say you can’t impact government decision-making or build power alliances to support your cause. JPA will help companies and organizations integrate public affairs, government relations and strategic communications functions to generate revenue as well as have a measureable impact on the legislative and regulatory process in California and our nation’s capital.” Seasoned executive handles shifting political landscape deftly Before founding Jemal Public Affairs, Jemal served as the senior vice president of government relations for the Cyber Security Industry Alliance (CSIA), the only national trade association dedicated to ensuring the privacy, reliability and integrity of information systems and consumer data. He also served as the executive director of the Orange County and Inland Empire council of the AeA (formerly the American Electronics Association), where he revitalized the chapter’s government relations program and increased organizational revenues through corporate sponsorships, grant funding and program revenues.
