NASCIO elects Gillispie as president

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers has elected John Gillispie, CIO and chief operating officer for Iowa, president of the organization for its 2007-2008 year.

Gillispie will replace Michigan CIO Teri Takai, who was president for the 2006-2007 program year.

NASCIO members also elected several new officers and directors for the association. The following are the new and returning officers and directors.

Officers

  • President - Gillispie.
  • Vice President – Gopal Khanna, CIO for Minnesota.
  • Secretary/Treasurer – Gary Robinson, CIO for Washington state.


  • New directors

  • Mark Bengel, CIO for Tennessee.
  • Otto Doll, CIO for South Dakota.
  • Tom Jarrett, CIO for Delaware.
  • Dick Thompson, CIO for Maine.


  • The new directors join returning Executive Committee directors Brenda Decker, CIO for Nebraska; Joe Fleckinger, CIO for Oklahoma; and Steve Fletcher, CIO for Utah.

    The new leadership officially took effect immediately following NASCIO's State Dinner Oct. 2.
