Please note the following errors in the article "Fervor over formats cools for now." First, ISO/IEC 26300 (OASIS Open Document Format or OpenDocument) is not owned by the open-source community. It is owned and developed by the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards. Further, there are significant numbers of proprietary applications that support ISO 26300 in addition to open-source ones. More significantly, Massachusetts has not selected Microsoft's Office Open XML (OOXML) format for use. It selected Ecma OOXML, which is not the same thing as MS OOXML which is already noncompliant with Ecma OOXML. This noncompliance will be considerably increased with the revised version that will follow a positive outcome from the current ISO standardization process.
