Regarding "House approves bill to expand telework": I hope this bill becomes a law before Mr. Bush leaves his office. Although there are many advantages to the telecommuting, unfortunately it is difficult to enforce in the Department of Education where Flexiplace/Telecommuting is used by managers for the purpose of punishing and rewarding.

Regarding "DOD gives big nod to Lean Six Sigma": The ending note "Some critics of Lean Six Sigma say it fosters a belief that all processes can be improved when the best solution might be to eliminate inefficient ones." appears to be wrong.
Actually this is a criticism of Six Sigma, where the Lean Six Sigma approach first eliminates the inefficient processes, and then uses Six Sigma to reduce variation and defects in the remaining "lean" processes.

Regarding "Roosevelt scholarships would help fill mission-critical positions": That's just great for graduate-level students but what about college-level students.  They would also like to have this opportunity and the government might be passing up on some very bright people just because they are struggling to get the funds to complete college.

Regarding "NASA blogger suspended for Hatch Act violation": Another good reason to keep your duty time and your off-duty pursuits separate.

Another thing that should be looked at is the pressure exerted on government personnel to attend get-togethers condoned or sponsored by upper-level government personnel [ such as] commanders, SESs or their assistants. Among the lower-level employees there is always the fear that nonattendance will be reflected on the appraisals.
