Regarding "Doan's undoing": It's hard to do justice to the topic of [Lurita Doan]'s demise without noting that she made negligible efforts to reverse the flow of major customers and business out of the agency. And she fostered that exit by driving out several talented executives who could have been critical in winning back credibility and business.
Her war with the GSA IG aside, this is a great example of weak-kneed oversight of an agency by Congress and the rest of the acquisition oversight community in the executive branch. [Lurita Doan] emanated failure signals early and often in her tenure.
