Regarding “SSA creates panel to guide systems' future”: I think it is a great idea for agencies to have a technology advisory council, especially those that do a lot of business with the public. Specifically, I think the grant-making agencies would benefit from each having a technology council so it can receive input from outside sources that can discuss what the public interface needs to be and also from outside sources that can provide information on the newest innovations that can help agencies do business with the public sector in a more up-to-date technical world.
There is too much infighting regarding the use of technology. The government should be looking for solutions that are viable and sustainable but at the same time current and easily adopted.
Hurray for the Social Security Administration.
