You seem to have a big chip on your shoulder. In any case, look at the ComputerWorld article last month on worker age vs policy conformance. One outtake: 69% of millennials will use whatever application/device/technology they want, regardless of source or corporate IT policies (compared with 31% of workers in other generations). Also, you might want to check "Inadvertently" in the dictionary.

Chip? This is by no means a single issue, has it come to no one's attention that multiple sources have decided to MAKE the "millennials" out to be the "bad guys" yet you can turn over to the main page of FCW today and find the artile that proclaims that the millennials are the future of the federal government.
All I am saying is age has NOTHING to do with the issue. If policy conformance is an issue that is an internal enforcement issue and not soley the fault of the employee. I beg to ask how many agencies have provided proper training to new employees rather then just throwing them a policy manual that is years out of date.
Also: "Inadvertently"
1. unintentional: an inadvertent insult. 2. not attentive; heedless. 3. of, pertaining to, or characterized by lack of attention.
I stand by the statement made, I knew EXACTLY what I was claiming. The CIO suggests that the younger generations are both WILLING and "accidently" misusing technology she claims that they all know and understand better then the later generations?
Are you serious? Think..THEN speak..
After all 91.5% of stats are fabricated for the benefits of the end users...

Then you really do have an attitude problem. When you take statements where the CIO is speculating on possible issues younger workers might create for IT departments, such as "workers may inadvertently be creating security hazards" and turn it into "we hate younger workers, and think they're all miscreants", it speaks more of you than anything else. BTW, it's highly unlikely the survey data on worker age vs corporate computer usage was "fabricated", and why would you suggest it was (other than you personally don't like it)?

It's sad to note that you refuse to look at yourself as being the problem as suppposed to the solution. The issue is that federal managers HAVE ALREADY used statements like that to come down on the younger work force and to be over their shoulder every waking moment instead of allowing them to do the job they were hired to do. The CIO also stated very specifically that practices such as " telework from cafes and coffee shops rather than from home." as potential security violations when that is the most incorrect statement a CIO in government can make. There are zero security requirements involving that practice, in fact most SES level employees are just as guilty and are first to fire up wi-fi at an airport or hotel. All agencies us secure VPN tunneling for exterior access to their systems and THIS meets the minimum FISMA security requirements.
The ignorance level is self-inflicting wounds on SES-ers that are more ignorant of the standards then the "younger work force".
Least many forget that if the younger professionals need to be addressed so agencies don't lose years of experience do to a lack of willingness to entrust the younger folks. It's this image that the younger people have an "attidute problem" and not the "aging work force" that is causing problems. Don't hold them back simply because they are very forward in their wording and their desire to serve and be taken seriously.
