Regarding “NASA plaintiffs win one round against HSPD-12”: Maybe I haven't followed every article written about HSPD-12 requirements, but I don't understand what the problem is with the background check.
I have worked with the Defense Department for more than 17 years as active military, as an Air Force civilian hire and now as a contractor. Since I started with these jobs, I have always required a security clearance, which has always required some form of National Agency Check.
I would think a background check and security clearance would be required for working with propulsion systems in NASA. Maybe I'm wrong. Or is the check required more in-depth than before?
Someone explain what the deal is for me because I have had the checks done and I don't see anything wrong with having tighter security.
