Regarding "Alaska native companies on thin ice," the Alaskan companies have had many years to build their businesses by getting sole-source contracts with no limit on price.

The government really needs to put service-disabled veteran-owned businesses into the category that the Alaskans are in. They have done a lot for our country and they really deserve to get something back. If the government could sole-source to such businesses even for a year, it would change so much. As most people know, you don't make millions being in the military. When military people are disabled or simply retire, they need help to build their business. With all my research, nobody wants to help unless you have thousands of dollars in the bank or excellent credit.

The government continues to say the percentage of money going to service-disabled veteran-owned businesses is very low. Then let’s help them. Let’s allow sole-sourcing just like they do for Alaskan companies. No competition would give the companies a huge boost, especially the ones that are just starting out.
