In reference to “DISA sees managed services as the future,” it is typical of the Defense Information Systems Agency to be behind the power curve on service-oriented architectures and monitoring services. The money the agency spends on a test effort would be better served by asking industry if full-up service level agreement management systems already exist. The answer is of course yes, with many trades and studies performed to make it work. Take a look at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Telecommunications Infrastructure Program, and the model FAA uses for services and service definitions. I thought it was DISA's intent to reuse first, buy second and develop third. This pilot looks like a road to develop without reuse.
