FCW Blogs

FCW Insider

In the Insider, Federal Computer Week editor in chief Christopher J. Dorobek will provide insights, analysis and observations on the government technology community. The blog will also look behind the scenes of both the magazine and Web site. Send your comments, opinions, concerns, complaints, compliments to cdorobek@1105govinfo.com ... Or just read the blog.

The Lectern

Steve Kelman's blog will draw on his exposure to government, teaching and academic research. The topics will be similar to his popular Federal Computer Week column, but the tone will be lighter and more personal. He will share snippets from the classroom and quick reactions to breaking news stories involving government management.

The Pay Check

Francis Rose, producer and co-host of "Your Turn with Mike Causey" on Federal News Radio (AM 1050), taps into a network of experts to give you a better grasp of financial issues. Rose tackles topics of special interest to federal employees and also looks at general financial matters through a federal prism. The Pay Check is one blog it always pays to read.

Get a Life!

Get a Life! is a blog about your work, life and next steps. It will run the gamut of what federal employees need to know about benefits, performance, management and health. It will have tips on getting ahead, changing jobs, dealing with bosses, managing new hires or preparing for retirement. The blog will share ideas from the business community, academia and you.

For verification, please include your full name, title and location. We prefer to run signed letters, but can withhold your name and other information upon request. Work in Progress

FCW editors, reporters and other contributors use Work in Progress to solicit reader input on articles or special projects being planned or in development for the Web site or magazine. Readers can pass on relevant news tips, suggest new lines of inquiry or voice their pet peeves. Want to contribute? Send an e-mail here.

Comings & Goings

Nothing lasts forever, especially jobs. This blog will help you keep track of who’s coming and going throughout the information technology industry. Know of someone on the move? Let Web Editor Stephanie Kanowitz know or leave a comment on the blog.

Corrections & Clarifications

Check this blog to find out what stories have been updated, corrected or clarified. You can find headlines, what changed and links to the stories all right here. Got a question about a change? Post it here. Because new postings will appear here only when things have changed, some days you might not find anything new. But check often to make sure you have the most up-to-date, accurate information.

GHIT Notebook

This blog, part of Government Health IT, is a space where our writers, editors and contributors will share observations, little-known nuggets of  information, informed opinions, and editorial out-takes generated by our day-to-day coverage of  government health IT policy and practices. We will also use the flexibility of the Web to experiment with different ways of covering the government health IT community – from blogging and reporting the same story concurrently to blending audio and print to add new dimensions to our coverage.

WT Editor's Note

Washington Technology Editor Nick Wakeman offers his views and insights into the world of government contractors. Wakeman also will give a sneak peak about upcoming issues and a behind the scenes look into how Washington Technology comes together, both in print and online.
