Avineon unveils BPM group, names head

Avineon, a provider of information technology and geospatial, engineering and program management services, has formed a business process management (BPM) group to focus on planning, implementation and support of BPM methodology and technology.
The company announced today that Anil Jayavarapu has been promoted to director of the BPM group. Jayavarapu has more than 12 years of experience in the management, development, implementation and support of technology solutions.
He will be responsible for overseeing ongoing BPM projects and broadening Avineon’s BPM offerings and services for the civilian, commercial and defense markets. Jayavarapu will also help manage the company’s relationships and partnerships with software vendors.
The company said the new practice group was created to help streamline, re-engineer and automate clients’ workflows and business processes. Avineon’s BPM offerings will include management consulting, design, development and optimization of processes and software development and integration with other IT systems.
Avineon has previously done BPM work for the Naval Sea Systems Command’s Strike Force Interoperability program to strengthen the efficiency and transparency of its Naval Warfare Systems Certification Process.
“Avineon has provided BPM service offerings for several years, and the demand has increased with both federal and commercial clients, prompting us to form the BPM practice,” said Gary Wilkison, the company’s vice president of geospatial and engineering services.
In August 2006, Avineon entered into an advisory agreement with Harris under the Homeland Security Department’s mentor/protégé program aimed at fostering partnerships between large contractors and small, disadvantaged firms.
Harris is providing technical training and professional development, instructing Avineon on business acquisition processes and supporting the company’s process improvement initiatives.
Avineon is based in Alexandria, Va., and has offices in Alabama and Florida.
