The Industry Advisory Council announced the top 20 candidates for the seventh annual Excellence.Gov awards.
IAC, an advisory group of the American Council for Technology, said the 20 program finalists were selected by a panel of 23 judges representing government and industry who assessed the entrants' demonstrated excellence in using technology to enhance collaboration.
The top 20 Excellence.Gov Award finalists for 2007 are listed in alphabetical order according to their program name:
Advanced Technologies and Oceanic Procedures (Federal Aviation Administration).
BantuConnect/DefenseConnect (Army Department).
Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (Defense Department’s Civilian Personnel Management Service).
IRRIS Technology (U.S. Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency).
Justice Information System (The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council of the Washington, D.C., government).
Knowledge Services Network (FAA).
Medical Communications for Combat Casualty Care (Army).
My HealtheVet (Veterans Health Administration).
Resource Patient Management System (Indian Health Service).
Scientific Coding System OnDemand (National Institutes of Health).
The finalists were selected from 115 entries and evaluated on criteria that included: clearly articulated means of collaboration enabled by technology; use of innovative IT to support the objectives of collaborating organizations and federal strategic goals; demonstrable efficiency gains, cost advantages or superiority over previous collaboration methods; and a sound approach to addressing issues of data security and privacy.
Five winners will be selected and recognized for their achievements at the Excellence.Gov Awards ceremony and luncheon reception, Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C.
