Verizon Business will provide the Forest Service with voice services for more than 1,100 offices under a five-year task order. The task order, valued at up to $37 million, was issued under the General Services Administration’s Connections contract.

It includes a one-year commitment and four one-year optional renewals.

Verizon will provide maintenance, repair and support services for traditional voice and voice-over-IP systems. The work supports 40,000 Forest Service employees.

The Forest Service, an arm of the Agriculture Department established in 1905, manages about 193 million acres of public lands in national forests and grasslands.
