The Office of Personnel Management has begun airing four public service announcements on Wheeling, W.Va., TV stations aimed at encouraging individuals there and in surrounding communities to consider a career with the federal government. The TV ads are part of a nationwide campaign to attract qualified and skilled Americans to the federal civilian workforce. Four distinct ads featuring federal workers explain opportunities in the federal workforce. “We currently have more than 22,000 openings throughout the federal government, and we need talented, dedicated Americans to come and make a difference,” OPM Director Linda Springer said. "Regardless of your professional background, the federal government has a career opportunity for you." "I encourage Americans in Wheeling and throughout northern West Virginia, southeastern Ohio, southwestern Pennsylvania and western Maryland to visit www.USAJOBS.gov today to see what we have to offer,” Springer said. The ad campaign premiered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., earlier this year.
