The Navy is looking for a contractor to support its Cyber Asset Reduction and Security Task Force program, according to a notice published this week on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site.

The program, managed by Naval Network Warfare Command, is designed to halve the service’s shore-based information technology footprint of the secret and lower categories by 2011. The effort also aims to provide better visibility of the Navy’s IT inventory.

The contractor’s duties would include project management, configuration and asset discovery, and system architecture development, according to the notice.

The Navy is expected to issue a formal request for proposals on or after May 18 for a cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, according to the notice. The contract will be for one year, with three one-year renewal options. The notice includes no information about the expected contract value.
